Before deciding to invest in a place, you might be consider several things, such as how the business opportunity, locations that can be achieved if you finally decide to invest there.

In Indonesia, there are actually many business opportunities that you can find, such as business opportunities in infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, energy, digital industry to lifestyle business opportunities.

Whatever business opportunity you will choose, you will need to pay attention on how and prepare a few things before you start investing in a company. For foreign investment companies, there are two alternatives you can do. The first alternative:

  1. Applying for permission to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM),
  2. Filed a request for the name of a limited liability company (PT) to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham),
  3. Make the deed of establishment and articles of association of PT,
  4. Take care of certificate of company domicile,
  5. Create taxpayer ID number (NPWP)
  6. the articles of association which have been legalized by Kemenkumham

The second alternative, the process is almost the same:

  1. Filed a request for the name of PT to Kemenkumham,
  2. Making the deed of establishment and articles of association of PT,
  3. Taking care of company domicile certificate,
  4. Create NPWP
  5. Applying for permission to BKPM and
  6. Submit a statute that has been legalized by Kemenkumham

As for domestic companies:

  1. filed a request for the name of PT to Kemenkumham,
  2. Establishing deed of establishment and articles of association,
  3. Taking care of company domicile certificate,
  4. Create NPWP
  5. Submit the articles of association which have been legalized by Kemenkumham

After that, you can start to take care of the appropriate permissions with the business that you will run in Indonesia. The business license here may be intended to license new business, expansion, and amendment of business license.

If all of the above you have fulfilled, then you are ready to start a business in Indonesia. And you can start preparing it from now on yourself, or ask from a consultant for help you handling it if you do not have much free time.
